All-American Running Back

John Hebert (’22) concluded his third varsity football season at Strake Jesuit, and he has been exceptional. On December 12th, the Houston Touchdown Club Awarded John, Co-Offensive Player of the Year. A Houston Chronicle sportswriter descried his accomplishments...

“Hebert is one of the most decorated rushers in Texas high school football history. The senior University of Houston signee rushed for 3,668 yards and scored 44 total touchdowns this year and capped his career with 8,090 rushing yards, good for fourth all-time in the Houston area. His contributions helped Strake Jesuit win its first district title since 2008 and reach the regional semifinals.”

John also stars in track at Jesuit, having run 11.18 sec. in the 100m last year. John also ran the third leg of Strake’s 4x400 relay, the 200m, as well as long and triple jumps. As a grand finale, John will play in the Navy All-American Bowl in San Antonio on January 10th.

Western Headmaster, Mr. Jason Hebert, John's dad, related that, "John is doing fantastic at school, performing very well academically. He's won character awards too. John’s been good for a long time, and he's gotten progressively better. John puts a lot into playing football, so it pays off, and he's been given a bunch, talent-wise."
