How to Apply for Lower School (Grades 3rd thru Grades 5th)
- Complete the online application form and pay the $150 application fee. (NOTE: New parents will have to create an admissions account prior to starting the application process).
- After you have completed the online application and paid the application fee online, you may book a day-long student visit (a shadow day) for your son. Please go to your son’s online admissions checklist and click the calendar icon next to the “shadow day calendar” checklist item. (Shadow day calendars are typically not “live” until late September or early October).
- Other items needed are:
- Academic Records with proper Western Academy Request for Records Form
- Recommendation Form completed by a current teacher (at least one)
- Once your son’s application is completed, arrange for a family interview. Completing the family interview is the final step required for full consideration by the school.
New parents will need to create a new account in order to initiate the online application process.
How to Apply for Middle School (Grades 6th thru Grades 8th)
IMPORTANT NOTE: For those applying for 6th, 7th and 8th grade, we are not able to host shadow days for admission until we know there will be at least one open seat in the Middle School grade you are applying for. Once we know we will have an opening in that grade, your son will be invited to shadow (a full-day school visit) in the grade he is currently in. Only those who have submitted an online application form will be considered for a shadow day if one becomes available and subsequently can complete the admissions process.
Our recommendation for those interested in admission to middle school grades 6th – 8th:
- Complete the online application form and pay the $150 application fee.
- Email the admissions staff (Mr. Power or Mrs. Joseph) to let us know you have submitted the form and would like a Shadow Day if one becomes available.
- You may also submit the Teacher Recommendation form and Academic Records form without a Shadow Day, but you will not be able to arrange a Family Interview (the last step in admissions process) until your son has completed his Shadow Day.
- Call Mrs. Joseph about any questions regarding the process.

Our Admissions Deadline is February 4, 2027.
If the application process for your son is not complete by this date, it is considered late and you may apply to the waitpool.
We will not host shadow days after February 4, 2027.
Late Applicants - Waitpool Procedure
Western Academy expects full enrollment in all grades for the 2027-2028 school year. Each year, however, we may have a very small number of unanticipated openings. Consequently, the following process allows late applicants to apply to our waitpool in the event of such openings. To apply to the waitpool, please

Starting April 10, Western Academy will reach out to you if, based available spaces, a student shadow day (a full-day visit) is advisable
Following the shadow day, should you chose to complete the process, please request the teacher recommendation and academic records forms from your parent portal, and schedule the family interview by calling admissions staff.
Decisions for waitpool applicants are announced on an as-available basis, no earlier than mid-April 2027 and as late as August 2027.
