Old Boys Lend a Hand at their Alma Mater

For a few days this week, our Faculty ended up a bit short-handed, so two of our “oldest” and most experienced Old Boys stepped up to pick up to slack. Martin Montalvo (2012) and Edmund Carroll (2013) donned jackets and ties to help out in 6th and 7th grade. Martin, a member of Western’s first graduating class, finished his degree in Manufacturing & Mechanical Engineering at Texas A&M University and was in the Corps of Cadets. Martin hopes to join the US Navy as an officer this summer.

Edmund is a final-year Political Science student at the University of Houston who worked part time in Western’s Maintenance Crew throughout his college years.

Both young men commented that “a lot of our guys are scheming about how to find their way back to WA to teach here someday.” This is great news and our latest dream come true! Thanks to Martin and Edmund for their awesome help!
