JV Football Wins First Game

Football - Because of Hurricane Harvey, the JV Green Jay Football Team was able to really have only one day of full practice after the start of the practice season two weeks earlier. Regardless, our boys came out victorious 7-6 this past Tuesday against the Cypress Christian Warriors. That’s right 7-6!

The Warriors got on the scoreboard first with a touchdown in the first quarter, but they missed the extra point. The Green Jays rallied late in the third square when quarterback Ben Madden got the ball and handed it off to running back Nicholas Worley who took it in for a touchdown. Fortunately, the Green Jays were able to run a botched hike into the end zone for an extra point that clinched the victory. Well done, Green Jays! The JV will play at home next week against Lutheran South. Date and time TBA.

The Varsity Team will play their home opener against Lutheran South next Thursday at 5:00pm. Come out and support the Green Jays!
