Combine Conditioning Camp Description:

Is your son an athlete (grades 2-8) looking to take his game to the next level? While your son's competitors are fast asleep in their comfy beds this summer, your son will be up before the sun, working out alongside his new-found pals preparing for the season ahead.

Our Combine/Conditioning Camp is designed to help your son excel in key combine events crucial for athletic success. The camp is two-fold: (1) conditioning in the first part of the session and (2) Combine Testing training for one or two standard NFL combine tests per week.  Come for all 5 weeks, and get your son a full tested Combine Profile and some increased athletic chops for next season!

Conditioning

Interval Training: This involves alternating periods of high-intensity exercise with periods of rest or low-intensity exercise.

Plyometrics: These exercises involve explosive movements, such as box jumps, and medicine ball slams. They help develop explosive power and improve reaction time.

Combine Testing (same as the NFL)

  • Speed and Agility: 40-yard dash, 20-yard shuttle, 3-cone drill, 60-yard shuttle

  • Power and Explosiveness: Bench press (6-8 grade) Pushups (2-5 grade), vertical jump, broad jump

  • Results: Each week will have a special focus on one or two of these tests - We aim to get an official time/measurement on all 7 events. Come for all 5 weeks to see your progress week to week.

  • Personalized Combine Report: Your son will receive a full combine report at the end of each week displaying his best times and measurements. Comparisons between other athletes will also be a part of the report.

  • Legend Status: Want to leave your mark on Western Academy? A top 10-board displaying the best all-time results will remain at Western for years to come!

  • No prior experience needed: While this is no watered down workout, a good attitude and desire for grit (skip the grits) is all that’s required.  We will group like ages/experience to maximize the training.

Convenient for Working Families: Early Drop off at 6:45 am and align with our full day camps!

Sessions start promptly at 7 am and finish at 8:30 am

About: Justin Hebert was a 1st team all-district defensive player at 6A Klein High School and a walk-on linebacker at Auburn University.  Hebert has coached several seasons for Texas High School 7 on 7.

WHEN and Targeted Tests (Note: Your son will get tested in all 7 events each week. The targeted test listed will be tested at the start of the week, and the conditioning will build toward the re-test of the target test at the end of the week)


June 9-13 (6:45am-8:45am) - week 1 - Vertical & Broad Jump

June 16-20 (6:45am-8:45am) - week 2 - 40-yard dash

June 23-27 (6:45am-8:45am) - week 3 - 20-yard shuttle / 3 cone drill

July 7-11 (6:45am-8:45am) - week 4 - 60-yard shuttle

July 14-18 (6:45am-8:45am) - week 5 - Bench Press / Pushups
