American Patriot Camp

American Patriot Camp will immerse boys in the rich cultural traditions of our great nation in the Fourth of July week. Here is last year’s camp schedule. This year’s will likely be quite similar.

Focus - Each day is divided into a tripartite structure that will follow the pattern described below: 

Session 1 will focus on a different branch of the armed services and a battle or hero related to that branch.

Monday - Army - Founding of the Republic, General Washington, and Battle of Trenton

Tuesday - Navy - Early Republic, USS Constitution, Old Ironsides

Wednesday - Air Force - B-17 Flying Fortress, Memphis Belle

Thursday - Marines - Iwo Jima and Marine Corp Memorial, Chesty Puller

Friday - Coast Guard, recounting of tale of The Finest Hours

Session 2 will focus on learning about a different geographical region of our great nation through styles of music, works of art, accomplishments, historical figures, etc. 

Monday (North) - Wall Street, Broadway, Statue of Liberty & Bull of Wall Street 

Tuesday (South) - Music focus on Country, Gospel, Blues, Jazz

Wednesday (Midwest) - Sports focus on baseball and football

Thursday (Mountain Time) - Transcontinental Railroad and Yellowstone National Park

Friday (West) - Golden Gate Bridge, Hollywood, Tale of Two Valleys (Napa and Silicon)

Session 3 will focus on the following: (1) building a cool Lego-style version of the US capitol, or (2) assembling an American-themed puzzle, or (3) constructing a 3-D puzzle of a Mississippi riverboat while we eat an American treat and learn about its origins.

The schedule for treats/desserts is as follows. Kindly let me know if your son has any allergies I need to know about or if you don't want him to eat this treat for any reason.

Wednesday - Kolache Factory

Thursday - Shipley Beignets

Friday - Blue Bell ice cream
