Football Success!

Football - What an evening the Green Jay football team had last Thursday! They faced a 1-1 Fort Bend Christian Academy team who had won big over Salem the previous week. The Green Jays won this contest 36-6. Here are some of the highlights:

  • A 40-yard screen pass touchdown from QB Ben Madden to Nicholas Worley
  • Defensive Lineman Garrett England stripped the ball from a big Fort Bend fullback and accelerated to a 75-yard touchdown run 
  • A Warren Brown 55-yard kickoff return touchdown
  • A Josh Hebert 50-yard tackle breaking touchdown run 
  • A Ben Madden to Collin Abello 25-yard touchdown pass. 
  • The Green Jay defense continued its league dominance in this contest by forcing 3 turnovers giving them 8 forced turnovers in three games. They've only allowed 2 touchdowns in 3 games (12 total points all year). 
  •  Varsity is 2-1 overall this season. 

The Western Academy JV team plays Monday at the AOS game field at 4:30pm. The Varsity plays next Thursday at Woodlands Christian beginning at 6:00pm.
