"Torment at Sea"

By Camden Ritchey

The large vessel slowly sailed in the bay
drifting over the choppy black waters
watching the storm clouds roll over the waves
with the harbor seeming to get no closer
The ship dipped under the huge black swells
soaking the sailors and the weather-torn deck
wind howling pushing the billowing sails
trying to avoid a horrible shipwreck
As the storm faded over the horizon
the sails lay in tatters on the bow
watching as the large white seagulls fly in
with most of the cargo inside now
As the shining sun soon melted away
the triumphant vessel would see another day
