"Bridges to Home"

by Joseph Davidson

We stand upon a dark and endless pit
That burns a hole through our imperfect minds.
Beyond a beautiful palace is lit
With stars that gleam and stare at all mankind.
So we reach out to grasp that lovely sight
And build our bridges over Death's dark veil.
We strive to reach the home of perfect light.
We surpass the fiery pit of Hell
To obtain eternal happiness is,
like to walk among royal kings.
We beg to come inside for it is His.
Rejection fills our hearts with nothing,
But we are forgiven of our sins
And we rejoice for He has let us in.
