Our previous event - Go Western Boots n’ Blue Jeans 2019
Three great artists, an amazing live and silent auction and the generosity of our WA's supporters made this Go Western our best yet! Our Rock with Don Felder experience where Don taught some lucky students and even some adults how to play like him was an amazing start to the evening and left everyone there wanting more. As the sun set and lights went up around the big tent on the front field, folks started to arrive and the buzz got going. Our amazing volunteers and staff were everywhere on the campus of Western Academy, should our guests get lost in the "woods" of WA. BBQ dinner and drinks were enjoyed by all and the auction was in full swing. The Head or Tails game even had our very own Tim Keenley playing in the final five!
The Cowpunks and Mr. Whitebread got the music going followed by Terry McDermott. The crowd enjoyed the sounds and there was quite a bit of foot tapping. Our final artist and former Eagles guitarist, Don Felder, got the crowd going with some great classic hits like "Take It Easy," "Heartache Tonight," and "Seven Bridges Road" just to name a few. He saved the best for last and finished his set with the iconic "Hotel California." In a 2003 appearance on the Jeff Probst show, Don Felder said of the magic of "Hotel California,"...”every once in awhile it seems like the cosmos parts and something great falls into your lap." Could he have been talking about Western Academy? Perhaps... "Hotel California" was a great way to end the evening and folks headed home. Some of them were surely still singing those tunes on their way back.
We would like to thank Raul & Kristen Abello for their generosity, being amazing hosts and supporting the vision of Western Academy. A big thanks to all our sponsors, donors and underwriters and to all our supporters without whom this event would not be possible.
Thank you for your support for the mission and vision of Western Academy!
