Dan Murphy, Teacher
Dan Murphy joins Western Academy to teach Physical Science, Earth Science, Math, Latin and Music Theory/Appreciation. Mr. Murphy was fortunate to receive a liberal arts training at Trivium High School in Lancaster, MA. He attended University of Notre Dame, graduating in 2009 with a B.S. in Physics. He subsequently worked as a Research Technician at Albert Einstein College of Medicine in New York City for three years. In Fall of 2012, he moved to Houston to attend the graduate program at Rice University, and in 2015 received his M.S. in Applied Physics. His music background comes from studying jazz piano part-time for over ten years, and taking a few music theory classes at Notre Dame, and performing in various instrumental and vocal groups. Over the years, Mr. Murphy has volunteered in mentoring programs for high school boys as well as summer programs for both high school and middle school boys. He is very excited to be teaching at Western Academy this Fall of 2015!
