Adam Thompson, Communications Coordinator, Teacher, Coach

Adam Thompson began teaching at Western Academy in 2012. Currently, he is an 8th grade homeroom teacher as well as an instructor of Latin, writing, literature, pre-algebra, yearbook, and speech and debate. He also serves as the head coach of the speech and debate and cross country teams.  In addition to his teaching and coaching duties, Adam publishes the Western Word each week for the school community, updates the school's web site and social media pages, and coordinates email campaigns as part of his communications responsibilities. 

Prior to his six years at Western Academy, Adam taught English and coached wrestling and forensics at his alma mater, St. Thomas High School. He earned his B.A. in English from Sewanee: The University of the South in 2002, his M.Ed. in Professional Leadership from Regis University in 2009, and his M.A. in English from National University in 2012.
