Little Wastelands Camp

Space City lies in verdant ruin. Moss and vine creep over road, home, and skyscraper alike. The din of commerce is muzzled. Good weapons are scarce, courage scarcer. The song of civilization is hushed to a barely audible whisper. When will we hear it again?

All that remains are the plainsmen: survivors of a world gone grim, survivors still clinging to human dignity and justice—no matter the cost. But the plainsmen are waylaid at every turn. Feral beasts roam rampant, disregarding the food chain of old. Men turned goons raid outposts like wolves claw mad. Petty chieftains feud and foment foul play. The plainsmen must band together or fall.

Little Wastelands is a sandbox world of imaginative play, an oasis for boys longing for game and story beyond the screen. Each day, campers are introduced to imagined, apocalyptic scenarios in which they must survive and thrive. Through daily modeling by teachers, boys will learn to concoct fictional premises used to play inspired, outdoor games. Mission-based combat and strategic forums will take place daily amid the sprawling greens of Western Academy.

Boys will build and wield weaponry that is safe for outdoor combat. Weapons include: Buccaneer Blades, Goo-Guns, Boom-blocking-bucklers and more. Boys will harness the power of tools left over from a bygone world, including: walkie-talkies, dromedaries, camouflage, and more. Throughout the camp, boys will ponder ideas inseparable from the apocalyptic genre, including Scarcity, Suspicion, Barter, Scavenging, Lawlessness, Tough Justice, and more.

Game premises include: Feral Hunt, Forage, Prison Break, Run to the Hills, War Wagon, Outpost Construction, Petty Chieftain, Justice on the Plains, and so much more…
