In May, Norman Barud (’19) completed his degree at the U. of St. Thomas. He studies in the Honors Program and is the Lab Manager of the 3D-Printing Lab in the Engineering Department.
In the interview video above, Norman starts out by saying, “Western Academy and Opus Dei have made big impacts on my life,” and actively engages in his faith.
He says his interest in engineering grew out of necessity at home, particularly during the hard times wrought by the Harvey storm. Also, his knack for technology was nurtured in an “environment of making and creativity” at home, with engineers on both his mother and father’s sides of the family who encouraged his passions. Here is a short article about Norman.
