A Prime Salutatorian!

Dominic Block ('21) gave the salutatorian speech at Cathedral High School this May. It was the school's first graduation, and in his short speech, he thanked the founders of the school "for their vision and courage in starting this great project of yours, which finally comes to fruition today."

He ended by relating about learning the theory of limits in calculus, "Where you are to find the value of the area under a curve, that the function gets infinitely close to, but never actually reaches." He compared this to the quest of "achieving sainthood, which might seem impossible, but, unlike the function in calculus that never actually reaches that point, you can reach sainthood through the grace of God. All you have to do is persevere, as St. Josemaría Escrivá says, 'To begin is for everyone, to persevere, for saints!'”

Appearing among graduates were Dominic, right in the center, and Western men, John Paul England ('22) and Peter McManus ('22). Athletic Director, Mr. David Heffernan ('13) appears at the back right.
