Who's Brant Banks?
In late September, the Green Bay Packers promoted rookie offensive tackle Brant Banks ('15) to their 53-man roster. Brant played at Nebraska but transferred to Rice University to complete his last two college years. Since then, Brant was picked up, then waived, by the Tennessee Titans.
In a Packer's article, Who's Brant Banks, one of his Rice coaches mentions, “Brant has a big personality where people look for him to lead, and everything he does, he does it the right way. He’s an awesome person to be around.”
Brant has always had a big personality, and we saw it when he first came to WA in the middle of the 6th grade in 2013. Mr. Hoff had him in homeroom class, and says, “Although Brant was bigger and stronger than his classmates and pretty much everyone else at the school, he had the most easygoing and humorous personality. He made people feel comfortable and was always joking around. And he was an excellent student!”
Brant was already pretty tall in 8th grade, here with his Shell teammates on house sorting day
Brant was always at least a head taller than everyone else, and after he was sorted into the House of the Shell, he helped them to their first House Cup in 2014. Brant was also a man of many talents, and he was cast as the Ghost of Christmas Past in the very successful rendition of A Christmas Carol back in 2014. Banks was a quintessential Western boy who became a Western man! Good luck to our first WA grad in the NFL!
