Pigskin Classic 2023 – HS Juniors Show Up!

The Pigskin Classic each year pits graduated class teams of Old Boys against each other and against faculty and dads’ teams. Scheduled around New Year’s Day, the tournament employs a technical set of rules and professional referees to enforce them.

At this year’s tournament on December 30, 2023, Western Class of 2021 narrowly defeated the 2020 Old Boys in the championship game by the tight 13-12 margin.

The winning team battled through their games leading up to the final. The spry Berhane Linbeck was named MVP by a fiercely competitive opposing 2020 squad, which got second place. For his efforts, Linbeck received the highly coveted Golden Football award.

This year’s tournament may have been the most competitive ever. 115 players came out to play on a gorgeous winter afternoon. The Pigskin is always a great moment to catch up with all the boys and dads during and after the games at the Chick-fil-A dinner in the Barn.
