Old Boys Lead Round Net Team

Western young men representing the Roundnet team in state and national and tournaments are led by Seniors Felipe Martinez (’18) and Mason Abrell (’18). Class of 2020 boys make up the majority of the team: Paul Belton, JohnPaul Chincuanco, Joseph Dinh, Jacob Hanel, Patricio Parra, and Robert Sellers. Our high schoolers regularly compete against college students and young professionals in and out of state. No surprise to see Western boys at the leading edge of a brand new sport… affectionately called “Spikeball."

A little explanation: Roundnet is a sport in its developmental stage and growing rapidly in popularity. Played like volleyball with two players per side, the four-foot roundnet sits on the ground as a trampoline for the ball to be played out for points. Team strategy, agility, speed, and ball striking skills characterize the game.
