Rugby Update

The Varsity Team victoriously played its last home game yesterday against the British International School of Houston.

Chris Hoekel scored the first try. The Green Jays got off to a slow start after Hoekel's try with Pablo Granados scoring near the end of the first quarter leaving the good guys trailing 12-10.

After the first quarter, however, the Green Jays came alive and turned on the heat to defeat a tenacious British School 60-24. Pablo Granados scored four tries, Joe Cassidy scored two tries, and Jackson Litts scored two tries, while Chris Hoekel, Harrison Heard, Joey Davidson, Nicholas Gutierrez, and Haden Gabel all scored one try. Special mention goes to Nicholas Hamilton for making two awesome low tackles which stopped British School tries.

Right now the Green Jays are undefeated in league play and have only lost one match to the non-league team, The Woodlands, 12-5.

The Green Jays play Lanier next Thursday at St. Pius High School at 4:30pm prior to the fundraiser St. Pius vs Kingwood HS rugby match. Join us for our last regular season game!
