Self-Defense Camp

Self-Defense Camp

Objective:  Learn basic blocks, striking and kicking techniques for defense of self and others.

Method:  Practical martial arts techniques (Tae Kwon Do and Shotokan Karate) simplified for boys to learn how to defend themselves. Campers will develop the mental aspect of understanding how to approach threatening situations, learn options for deescalation and prevention of physical confrontation, and the prudence on when to apply physical force.  The skills we will focus on are balance and movement, distance control, rapid first reactions on blocking, punching, pushing, and kicking.

The boys will leave this camp with a clear understanding on how to handle themselves in highly intense situations and the confidence to carry out self defense for himself and others when required.
