Nathaniel Saylor, Teacher
Nathaniel Saylor teaches math, science and Latin at Western Academy. He has taught students at the elementary, middle, and high school level and is Texas certified in math, science, and special education. For the past three years he has also privately tutored students in all subjects, with a specialty in math and organizational skills. Prior to teaching, he founded and directed Emmaus Ministries Houston, an ecumenical Christian outreach to young men living on the streets. As Executive Director of Emmaus, Nathaniel recruited and trained volunteers from across the Archdiocese of Galveston-Houston and led educational sessions to raise awareness among Christians of the plight of young homeless men. He has also worked as a Catholic campus minister at Prairie View A&M University. Nathaniel brings a love of the outdoors to his teaching and is a Cub Scout Leader. He received a B.A. in Political Science from Wheaton College, and as part of his studies, he worked in Haifa, Israel, researching and publishing a directory of Arab Israeli human rights organizations. He speaks both French and Arabic.
