Patrick Miggins

Patrick Miggins is Western Academy's Assistant Headmaster and 8th grade homeroom teacher. He teaches literature, natural history, language arts, history and writing. Patrick brings 16 years of teaching and coaching experience to Western Academy. He began his teaching and coaching career at The Heights School in Potomac, MD, serving as a middle school homeroom teacher, then teaching ninth and tenth grade English, Ethics, and an elective in Irish Literature. At The Heights, Patrick helped form and teach the Freshman Core, a program of study for ninth graders integrating the rich history, literature, and philosophy of the Middle Ages. He earned a B.A. in English from the University of Dallas and a M.Ed. from the Curry School of Education at the University of Virginia. Patrick has completed coursework at CUA's Catholic Education Leadership and Policy School, where he is a Ph.D. candidate.
