The Faculty Of Western Academy

Joe Kolf, Teacher

Joe Kolf had the great fortune to attend The Heights School in Potomac, MD, from 3rd grade thru 12th grade. After graduation he earned a BA in History and Philosophy from the University of Notre Dame and then began his teaching career as a chemistry teacher at Cardinal Hayes High School in the Bronx, NY.  Following his tenure at Hayes, Joe earned a BS in Chemistry from the University of Missouri - St. Louis, and spent the next five years conducting and directing research on ceramic proppant for the hydraulic fracturing process, followed by a term as business manager for Christy Catalytics, a global manufacturer and distributor of industrial ceramic products.  In 2014 Joe came on board at Western Academy as our 4B homeroom teacher, a role which he loves tremendously and hopes to continue in for many years to come. Joe also assists with middle school advisory and directs the WA rocketry club.
