Joe Kolf, Teacher

Joe Kolf had the great fortune to attend The Heights School in Potomac, MD, from 3rd grade thru 12th grade.  After graduation he earned a BA in History and Philosophy from the University of Notre Dame and then began his teaching career as a chemistry teacher at Cardinal Hayes High School in the Bronx, NY.  Following his tenure at Hayes, Joe earned a BS in Chemistry from the University of Missouri - St. Louis, and spent the next five years conducting and directing research on ceramic proppant for the hydraulic fracturing process.  Most recently he served as business manager for Christy Catalytics, a global manufacturer and distributor of industrial ceramic products.  Joe now joins Western Academy as 4th grade homeroom teacher where he will teach Language Arts and Latin, Math, Natural History, and Chess and Chivalry.  He couldn't be more excited to be teaching again, most especially at Western Academy!
