Away in a Manger

Away in a manger, no crib for a bed, the little Lord Jesus laid down His sweet head.
The stars in the sky looked down where He lay, the little Lord Jesus, asleep on the hay.

The cattle are lowing, the Baby awakes, but little Lord Jesus, no crying He makes.
I love Thee, Lord Jesus; look down from the sky, aAnd stay by my cradle, till morning is nigh.

Be near me, Lord Jesus, I ask Thee to stay, close by me forever, and love me, I pray.
Bless all the dear children in Thy tender care, and fit us for heaven, to live with Thee there.

God Rest Ye Merry, Gentlemen

God rest ye merry, gentlemen, let nothing you dismay,
Remember, Christ our Savior, was born on Christmas Day;
To save us all from Satan's power, when we were gone astray.

Ref: 0 tidings of comfort and joy, comfort and joy, 0 tidings of comfort and joy.

In Bethlehem, in Israel, this blessed Babe was born,
And laid within a manger upon this blessed morn;
The which His mother Mary did nothing take in scorn. Ref:

From God our heavenly Father, a blessed angel came;
And unto certain shepherds, brought tiding of the same;
How that in Bethlehem was born, the Son of God by name. Ref:

"Fear not, then," said the angel, "Let nothing you affright;
This day is born a Savior, of a pure Virgin bright,
To free all those who trust in Him, from Satan's power and might." Ref:

The shepherds at those tidings rejoiced much in mind,
And left their flocks a-feeding in tempest, storm and wind,
And went to Bethl'em straightaway this blessed Babe to find. Ref:

But when to Bethlehem they came where our dear Savior lay,
They found Him in a manger where oxen feed on hay;
His mother Mary kneeling unto the Lord did pray. Ref:

Now to the Lord sing praises, all you within this place,
And with true love and brotherhood, each other now embrace;
This holy tide of Christmas, all others doth deface. Ref:

Good Christian men, rejoice, with heart and soul and voice
Now ye hear of endless bliss, Jesus Christ was born for this!
He has open'd Heaven's door, and man is blessed for evermore
Christ was born for this! Christ was born for this!

Calls you one and calls you all, to gain His everlasting hall,
Christ was born to save! Christ was born to save!

Good King Wenceslas

Good King Wenceslas looked out, on the feast of Stephen,
When the snow lay round about, deep and crisp and even.
Brightly shone the moon that night, though the frost was cruel,
When a poor man came in sight, gathering winter fuel.

"Hither, page, and stand by me. If you know it, telling:
Yonder peasant, who is he? Where and what his dwelling?"
"Sire, he lives a good league hence, underneath the mountain,
Right against the forest fence, by Saint Agnes' fountain."

"Bring me food and bring me wine. Bring me pine logs hither.
You and I will see him dine, when we bear them thither."
Page and monarch, forth they went, forth they went together,
Through the rude wind's wild lament, and the bitter weather.

"Sire, the night is darker now, and the wind blows stronger.
Fails my heart, I know not how. I can go no longer."
"Mark my footsteps my good page, tread now in them boldly:
You shall find the winter's rage, freeze thy blood less coldly."

In his master's step he trod, where the snow lay dented.
Heat was in the very sod, which the saint had printed.
Therefore, Christian men, be sure, wealth or rank possessing,
Ye who now will bless the poor, shall yourselves find blessing.

Hark! The Herald Angels Sing

Hark! The herald angels sing: "Glory to the newborn King;
Peace on earth and mercy mild, God and sinners reconciled."
Joyful all ye nations rise, join the triumph of the skies;
With the angelic host proclaim, "Christ is born in Bethlehem."'

Ref: Hark! The herald angels sing, "Glory to the newborn King."

Christ by highest heav'n adored, Christ the everlasting Lord;
Late in time behold Him come, offspring of a virgin's womb.
Veiled in flesh, the Godhead see!, hail, th' incarnate deity!
Pleased as man with man to dwell, Jesus, our Emmanuel. Ref:

Hail, the heaven-born Prince of Peace! Hail, the Sun of Righteousness!
Light and life to all He brings, risen with healing in His wings.
Mild he lays his glory by, born that man no more may die,
Born to raise the sons of earth, born to give them second birth. Ref:

I Heard the Bells on Christmas Day

I heard the bells on Christmas Day, their old familiar carols play.
And wild and sweet the words repeat, of peace on earth, good will to men.

I thought how, as the day had come, the belfries of all Christendom
Had roll'd along th' unbroken song, of peace on earth, good will to men.

And in despair, I bow'd my head, "There is no peace on earth," I said,
"For hate is strong and mocks the song, of peace on earth, good will to men."

Then pealed the bells more loud and deep; "God is not dead, nor doth He sleep;
The wrong shall fail, the right prevail, with Peace on earth, good will to men."

Jingle Bells

Dashing through the snow, in a one horse open sleigh
O'er the hills we go, laughing all the way.
Bells on bobtail ring, making spirits bright.
What fun it is to ride and sing, a sleighing song tonight.

Jingle bells jingle bells, jingle all the way!
Oh what fun it is to ride, in a one horse open sleigh ... (2x)

Jolly Old Saint Nicholas

Jolly old Saint Nicholas, lean your ear this way!
Don't you tell a single soul, what I'm going to say:
Christmas Eve is coming soon; now, you dear old man
Whisper what you'll bring to me; tell me if you can.

When the clock is striking twelve, when I'm fast asleep
Down the chimney, broad and black, with your pack you'll creep
All the stockings you will find, hanging in a row
Mine will be the shortest one, you'll be sure to know.

Johnny wants a pair of skates, Suzy wants a dolly,
Nellie wants a story book, she thinks dolls are folly,
As for me, my little brain, isn't very bright;
Choose for me, old Santa Claus; what you think is right.

Joy to the World

Joy to the world! The Lord is come: let earth receive her King;
Let every heart prepare him room,
And heav'n and nature sing, and heav'n and nature sing
And heaven, and heaven, and nature sing.

Joy to the world! The Savior reigns: let men their songs employ;
While fields and floods, rocks, hills and plains
Repeat the sounding joy, repeat the sounding joy
Repeat, repeat, the sounding joy.

He rules the earth with truth and grace, and makes the nations prove
The glories of His righteousness
And wonders of His love, and wonders of His love
And wonders, wonders, of His love.

Let it Snow

Oh the weather outside is frightful, but the fire is so delightful
And since we've no place to go: Let It Snow! Let It Snow! Let It Snow!

It doesn't show signs of stopping, and I've bought some corn for popping
The lights are turned way down low: Let It Snow! Let It Snow! Let It Snow!

When we finally kiss goodnight, how I'll hate going out in the storm!
But if you'll really hold me tight, All the way home I'll be warm.

The fire is slowly dying, and, my dear, we're still goodbying
But as long as you love me so: Let It Snow! Let It Snow! Let It Snow!

0 Little Town of Bethlehem

0 little town of Bethlehem, how still we see thee lie!
Above thy deep and dreamless sleep, the silent stars go by.
Yet in thy dark streets shineth, the everlasting Light;
The hopes and fears of all the years, are met in thee tonight.

For Christ is born of Mary, and gathered all above,
While mortals sleep, the angels keep, their watch of wondering love.
0 morning stars together, proclaim the holy birth;
And praises sing to God the King, and peace to men on earth.

How silently, how silently, the wondrous Gift is giv'n!
So God imparts to human hearts, the blessings of His heav'n.
No ear may hear His coming, but in this world of sin,
Where meek souls will receive Him still, the dear Christ enters in.

Where children pure and happy pray to the blessed Child,
Where misery cries out to Thee, Son of the mother mild;
Where charity stands watching and faith holds wide the door,
The dark night wakes, the glory breaks, and Christmas comes once more.

0 holy Child of Bethlehem, descend to us, we pray;
Cast out our sin and enter in, be born in us today.
We hear the Christmas angels, the great glad tidings tell:
Oh, come to us, abide with us, Our Lord Emmanuel!

Once in Royal David's City

Once in royal David's city, stood a lowly cattle shed,
Where a mother laid her Baby, in a manger for His bed:
Mary was that mother mild, Jesus Christ, her little Child.

He came down to earth from heaven, who is Gqd and Lord of all,
And His shelter was a stable, and His cradle was a stall:
With the poor, and mean, and lowly, lived on earth our Savior holy.

For He is our childhood's pattern; day by day, like us, He grew;
He was little, weak, and helpless, tears and smiles, like us He knew; And
He cares when we are sad, and He shares when we are glad.

And our eyes at last shall see Him, through His own redeeming love;
For that Child so dear and gentle, is our Lord in heaven above:
And He leads His children on, to the place where He is gone.

Silent Night! Holy Night!

Silent night, holy night, all is calm, all is bright
Round yon Virgin Mother and Child, Holy Infant so tender and mild
Sleep in heavenly peace, sleep in heavenly peace.

Silent night, holy night, shepherds quake at the sight
Glories stream from heaven afar, heavenly hosts sing "Alleluia"
Christ the Savior, is born, Christ the Savior, is born!

Silent night, holy night, Son of God, love's pure light
Radiant beams from Thy holy face, with the dawn of redeeming grace,
Jesus, Lord, at Thy birth, Jesus, Lord, at Thy birth.

Silent night, holy night, wondrous star, lend thy light;
With the angels let us sing, alleluia to our King;
Christ the Savior is born, Christ the Savior is born!

Stille Nacht, heilige Nacht! Alles schlaft; einsam wacht
Nur das traute heilige Paar, Holder Knab im lockigen Haar,
Schlafe in himmlischer Ruh, schlafe in himmlischer Ruh!

Noche de paz, noche de amor, todo duerme en derredor.
Entre sus astros que esparcen su luz, bella anunciando al ninito Jesus.
Brilla la estrella de paz, brilla la estrella de paz.

The First Noel

The first Noel the angel did say, was to certain poor shepherds in fields as they lay:
In fields where they lay keeping their sheep, on a cold winter's night that was so deep.

Ref: Noel Noel Noel Noel, born is the King of Israel.

They looked up and saw a star, shining in the East, beyond them far:
And to the earth it gave great light, and so it continued both day and night. Ref:

And by the light of that same star, three Wise Men came from the country far;
To seek for a King was their intent, and to follow the star wherever it went. Ref:

This star drew nigh to the Northwest; over Bethlehem it took it's rest;
And there it did both stop and stay, right over the place where Jesus lay. Ref:

Then entered in those Wise Men three, fell reverently upon their knee,
And offered there, in His presence, their gold and myrrh and frankincense. Ref:

Then let us all with one accord sing praises to our heavenly Lord;
That hath made heaven and earth of naught, And with His blood mankind hath bought. Ref:

White Christmas

I'm dreaming of a white Christmas, just like the ones I used to know,
Where the treetops glisten and children listen
To hear sleigh bells in the snow.

I'm dreaming of a white Christmas, with every Christmas card I write,
May your days be merry and bright, and may all your Christmases be white.
